What do you get when you put millions of people who once lived in utopias into dictatorships that don't have enough money to function? What if I told you these dictatorships steal the money they do have from the people they imprison within their borders? You get an Arab Spring.
The Arab Spring was a mass uprising of ordinary citizens against their dictators, the largest popular revolt in modern history, made up of ordinary people: students, workers, mothers, and fathers. They took to the streets armed with nothing but their voices and smartphones, demanding dignity, freedom, and bread. The Arab Spring didn't succeed everywhere it sprouted, but it did in some places, and that was more than anyone expected. Tunisia got democracy. Egypt toppled Mubarak. Libya freed itself from Gaddafi. What will happen to you?
